In a commendable initiative to bolster workplace safety, our KDV in the UK team underwent an intensive first aide training program. This crucial step not only emphasizes the importance of emergency preparedness but also strengthens the team’s bond and collective responsibility.
“First aid is a life skill, and I am a huge believer in looking after my team, and now we can look after each other and our families in the worst-case scenarios,” explained Regional Director Daniel Carr. “We kept it light as always, with lots of laughs and interesting banter. Most of all, everyone came away confident in their ability to react to a medical incident.”
The program began with a detailed session on Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) performing chest compressions and rescue breathing, a vital skill that can make a difference in life-threatening situations.
Next, the training shifted to the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). In this module, the team was instructed on the proper operation of this crucial device. They learned how to quickly and accurately assess a situation and apply the AED, a key intervention in cases of sudden cardiac arrest.
